So the Story Begins...

Since we have been engaged it has been a dream of ours to own a house built around the turn of the century. You know, put a little sweat equity into it and then invite your friends over. Well, our dream came true. We are now the soon to be owners of a 1924 Arts and Crafts house (AC for short). It is everything we wanted; exposed beams, hardwood floors, fireplace, original woodwork, a garage, a yard, two stories and a bar (for Nick).

We put our offer in less than 24 hours after our first walk-through. After about a month of searching and walking through around 30 homes we knew there was something special about this one. Signing all the papers for putting an offer in was very exciting. We anxiously awaited the phone call from our realter. Turns out the next two weeks would be filled with phone calls back and forth, negotiating with the sellers. Finally, the purchase agreement was finalized and it was time for the inspection.

Fortunately, things checked out pretty well, and after a couple more rounds of negotiations the inspection contigency was removed and we officially had a house!

We're set to close on April 11, so the next 6 weeks will be full of making lists and prioritizing projects! Anyone interested in either learning, sharpening, or donating their home improvement skills is welcome to stop by at any time, because we'll probably we working on the house. Constantly.
