evolved

Since absolutely nothing is happening on the house project front until we get through the end of marching band season, I found myself flipping through some pictures from the past five (FIVE!!) months in the life of our house. Sometimes looking at pictures of how far we’ve come makes me feel like we’ve been productive recently, even when we definitely haven’t.

(Try it sometime! You’re welcome.)

And because I’m a giver I decided to share the evolution of our dining room with you. (Again, you’re welcome.)

Just for the fun of it we’re going to walk through time in just one corner of the dining room. It’s amazing to see how much can change on a single wall! Plus? That’s the only way to narrow down the seventy million pictures I have of this project.

Day 1: Hey, let’s tear down a wall!

It sure looks a lot more simple in pictures than it felt in real life!

We’re chomping at the bit to get back into this project, and the countdown is definitely on! We have four more parades this weekend and then marching band season is officially over and the home remodeling season will be back in full swing.

Anybody else taking a semi-unwanted break from the ol’ house projects? Or maybe you just started back into it and you’re wishing you had a little longer off?? I know I’m drying to pick up some power tools, but I also know it’s going to be hard when we’re back at it.

  2. WOW. Lots of work! We had a few weeks when we just had boxes of tiles sitting around waiting to become flooring, it got really annoying after a while but we were just so busy we didn't have time to start the project!

  3. Very impressive. Yeah, it looks so easy when you show the pics in order like that. I can appreciate how much elbow grease went into it. Can't wait to see the rest.

  4. We've had a toilet sitting on our side porch for about 4 months now.... :) My mother in law came and primed the walls for us today so hopefully we'll get the half bath painted and tiled soon so the toilet can return to it's rightful place and get off the porch! :) We managed a month long break in there somehow! :)

  7. Nice work!

I'd be a bad renovator. I want everything done now.

We busted our buns building for 8 months and then did nothing for about a year...seriously. We were so burnt out.

I think this little break will probably be good...make you remotivated to do all of that hard work..enjoy the break while it lasts....easy for me to say, right?!?

  8. We're in the middle of an unwanted break. The office should have been a two week project, but here we are, 5 weeks later. Ugh. The sander has been at the the shop for almost three weeks. Finally borrowed one from the neighbor. I smell the finish line!
