Since our dogs like to be in the middle of whatever's happening around here, sometimes we need to get creative to let us get our work done.
And since our dogs are extremely motivated by food, our distraction techniques typically involve something tasty.
But bones/chews last less than 3 minutes in this house, so we have to a little more creative.
Problem solved.
Saturday night the dogs got nearly-empty peanut butter jars so we could install beadboard.
Worked like a charm!
And yes, we save empty jars until we have enough for both dogs. We don't actually go through two jars of PB at a time. Usually.
This is brilliant! I could have used this this morning when I was doing yoga. Usually the dogs are pretty good, but for some reason our little one was clingy, and every time I moved positions, she was right behind me and got knocked in the face! :)
ReplyDeleteSo very clever! I can only imagine the mess Ike would make with this!
ReplyDeleteClever!
ReplyDeleteThat is the only thing that works with our dogs too. We also give them the empty yogurt containers. But it means we always have to eager dogs hoping that one of the containers is empty every time we go in the fridge!
ReplyDeleteIf you have Kongs you can stuff them with peanut butter and freeze them. Dogs love it! Also Nylabones are awesome. Our furchildren love both!
ReplyDeleteWE DO THIS, TOO. Seriously - I think we're soul-mates. Lola will lick those jars for weeks. We save them until we have two of them for the pugs.
ReplyDeleteLove it!
