dare to entertain

I'm finally getting my act together and participating in this year's Dare to DIY (and you should, too!) but after I put this together I realized I think I cheated. I didn't really make anything, which I think was the point of Dare to DIY. I didn't even spray paint anything! But I did put this tablescape together with my own two hands so I'm hoping that counts for something.

Anyway, if the hosts will forgive me for my lack of spray paint DIY-ness, here's my contribution to Dare to Entertain!

I used to be such a huge fan of COLOR but this year I've really found myself drawn to neutrals. Maybe I haven't quite switched my brain from Fall/Thanksgiving to Winter/Christmas, but I guess this is a nice transition.

The napkins look quite purple in these photos, but they're actually a lovely gray that matches the gray in the table runner perfectly. Promise.

This little table set-up is nothing fancy, but it's warm and cozy and welcoming and everything I want our home to be right now. We're hosting several dinner parties in the coming weeks, so this table will see lots of laughter and love before the new year!

Next week's Dare to DIY theme is dare to give homemade gifts! I love seeing these ideas every year. Check out the hosts' fabulous projects and join the party!
